Just wanted to wish all my crafty pals a very Merry Christmas. We are flying out to Orlando for Christmas and New Year and so i wont be around to blog til the 1st week of January. Have thorough enjoyed all your comments, the challenges and visting everybodys blogs. Look forward to more fun in 2009
Here are a couple of cards we made in craft class on Thursday, love the stamp and the papers r EK Success
Another great sketch by Laura, I love this blog. Used basic grey 2 scoop paper and some chatterbox embellishments I got in a dollar store (love a bargain) My favourite colour for my last post of the year...... Pink!!!
Used K and co papers and my new Cheescake Wishes stamps which i absolutely love. He is the cutest thing ive ever seen. Prepared to be fed up with him very quickly if you are visiting my blog cos he will be making lots of appearances. Also added a foiled sentiment and card candy from Craft work cards. Enjoyed this challenge very much
Used Basic Grey papers for this and made a birthday card for my friend who lives in Toronto. I couldnt think of how to cut the ovals and then I remembered the George and Basic Shapes cartridge for the Cricut. It is so useful. Used buttons instead of bling for a change.
Have stamped a background and embossed in holographic embossing powder. Used cricut to cut scallop squares and embossed with cuttlebug. Main image stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent lavender and coloured in with same using a waterbrush. sentiment from craftwork cards
I made this card 2 weeks ago for another challenge but i am going to put it in for the daring cardmakers cos i think its exactly what they are looking for in this weeks challenge. Maybe its cheating but will give me some more time at the weekend to try some other challenges?
Another great sketch, I dont know how those girls do it!!! Anyway the paper is Artylicious and i cut some flower shapes on the Cricut and layered them up. The rhinestone thingamajggy is from Prima and the sentiment stamp is Penny Black.
It has been one crazy week around here and I so look forward to getting online and having a look at all the challenges and lovely cards and ideas people come up with.
Another great sketch from this blog. I follow it religiously. Used K and co papers and some bits and pieces from my craft box along with my threading water border punch which i dont know what i did without.
Thought this was a great sketch and since i have been making christmas cards all day thought i would give it a try. the paper is Anna Griffin and the swirl is a 'Thickers' embellishment. The other bits and pieces are from my stash and i used a stamp i got for about £2 and just watercoloured in the image and added some stickles
Heres my take on the sketch, used Cosmo Cricut papers and Coredinations card stock, some ribbons, buttons, and embellishment from my stash and Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder. Thanks for visiting
This was a tough one cos i dont sew!!! But i cut a heart with my cuttlebug and used a carpet sample of all things!!!! Added a few buttons and embellishments, cant remember where i got the paper from. its old!!!
Really enjoyed working with this one, its was the first card i made since i got back from holiday yesterday. Used K and Co papers and some ribbon from Craft at Home. I think i have bought most of their stock on this ribbon am using it on most of my Christmas cards. The stamp is from a shop in Canada, I stamped and embossed it in gold and coloured in with watercolour pencils and my water brush
Loved the idea of the round card, used papers from Artylicious Seasons greetings CD, used my cricut to cut the card shape and the embellishment is from my new stash from my visit to the dollar store!!! they have amazing stuff for crafting for next to nothing.
Just got back from Toronto, had a lovely visit and my newborn niece is gorgeous. Have brought back lots of crafting goodies and a new camera so hope that helps when i am uploading photos of my cards.
I loved this sketch and used a whole load of bits and pieces from my craft box including coredinations cardstock. used my cuttlebug and my cricut for the diecuts and my new threading water border punch I brought back from my travels.
I loved this sketch it was fun to work with. I have recently bought an embossing mat that enables me to run brass stencils thru my cuttlebug and got a beautiful angel stencil from Craft at home. the papers are Anna Griffin, K and Co and coredinations green card stock. Did a bit of beading on one of the panels. The pictures rubbish doesnt do it justice. The ribbon is from my Auntie Ritas stash, every year she goes to Costco and fills her trolley with the most beautiful ribbon for decorating her house, her tree and her xmas presents. She is a keen crafter who got me started. She is amazingly talented
A few things i have been working on am only able to post at work, its a long story. The pink cards are made using Pink Petticoat papers and are for Breast Cancer Care. So i have been busy but not able to post.
Sorry i havent done a challenge for a couple of weeks but i loved your sketch and am trying to blog here while im at work. Made this card with acetate, a 'thickers' embellishment, making memories brads, black magic coordinations card embossed thru cuttlebug and sanded down.
I followed Vanessa's instructions and was quite happy with my results this time. I have had that tub of utee for ages. I then mounted them onto gold card and i used my new Basic Grey stamp as a background on to green card. The backing paper is on the Damask Delights CD ROM by Artylicious.
This is a sackcloth reuseable bag from a local supermarket, i stitched on fibres, ribbons and beads to bling it up. All the girls in my craft club have been making them. This is my second attempt because my best friend ran off with the first one i made.
Kept it very simple, the weather in Scotland has been dire this 'summer', so its a bit of a dirty word around here!!! I used papers from Funky Hand, and some vellum for part of the back ground and the butterfly, I have used and abused this particular Cuttlebug die. I punched out some coredinations pink card stock and sanded it to reveal the core where i had embosed it with the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder. some pink brads to hold the vellum in place and (where would i be without my) bling on the butterfly's body.
I loved working with this sketch it really was a challenge, i used Fantasy Floral paper I printed off of my Artylicious CD, added some fairy embellishments i got in a clearance in Canada last year, punched a border added some adhesive stones, thats about it
This weeks Daring Cardmakers Challenge was to use an arrow on your card, i used Jen Wilson Warm Cocoa papers which i love. Used my Cricut to cut some of the shapes. The whole card reminds me of home (Canada)
Here is my entry for this weeks challenge. I didnt have a clue what to make and my son was cleaning out his room and handed me this old picture frame so i painted it and made something to put inside. Penny Black stamp used is called 'Bohemian'
This is my first attempt at this particular challenge 2 sketches 4 you. The pink card was made using Designer Digitals 'My Valentine' papers and the sentiment is Pink petticoat 'from the bottom of my heart'. the orange card was made using Jen Wilson papers. I printed off another sentiment from Pink Petticoat 'I believe in you'. I really think i need a new camera and the lightings bad (excuses excuses)
Decided to give the Penny Black challenge a try. I love ribbons have tons of them so this one was fun for me. This Penny Black stamp is one of my favourites called 'Garden Poems'. Jen Wilson paper, downloaded sentiments today from Pink Petticoat cos i hate my handwriting so thats where i got that one from. U will soon get fed up of my scallop circle punch, cant get enough at the moment.
I am originally from Toronto but now live in Scotland with my husband Chris and our sons Kieran(16) and Liam (13).
I go home to Canada to visit as often as I can. It was there I got introduced to scrapbooking and then my Aunt Rita who lives in Scotland got me hooked on card making.
I love all things spiritual and have a big interest in the Paranormal. I love any movies or TV shows on this subject.
I attend a weekly craft club at Craft at Home in Blantyre and everyone there are like family to me.
I could say more but I have really started this blog so I could meet new friends interested in crafting and would really like to know more about YOU!!!!
